Virginia State University will hold its annual Honors Convocation on Monday, April 7, at 7:00 PM, Anderson-Turner Auditorium, Virginia Hall.

The guest speaker is Nontombi Naomi Tutu, daughter of Nobel Peace Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Ms. Tutu is an international Human Rights Activist and Founder of the Tutu Foundation for Development and Relief in Southern Africa.

The Virginia State University Board of Visitors will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, April 10, 2008 and Friday, April 11, 2008.

On Thursday, April 10, concurrent committee meetings will begin at 1 p.m. in 310 Virginia Hall and conclude that day. The Full Board will convene Friday morning, April 11 at 8:30 a.m. in 310 Virginia Hall.

The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia recently approved Virginia State University’s (VSU) request to launch the Commonwealth of Virginia’s first Ph.D. program in Health Psychology. The program is slated to begin in Fall 2008 and will be led by Dr. Oliver W. Hill, Jr., chair of VSU’s psychology department.
