- I came to Virginia State University from Hartford, Connecticut, in 1978, with two of my homegirls, Cheryl Reynolds and Gina Hunter Stephens. I have been so blessed to develop a great number of my dearest friendships through my matriculation at the University. My circle of VSU friends is referred to as "Forever Friends". We fellowship and travel together every chance we get and really have a great time!
I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees form VSU. After graduation I began my career in the field of Education. I am presently working as the School Counseling Coordinator at Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia, as an adjunct professor at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and as a GRASP Representative at the Boys and Girls Club, both in Richmond, VA. I married Carlton Lee Matthews from Prince George, VA and have a wonderful stepson, grandchildren and several God children. I am also blessed to have my mother residing in my home.
I will always be proud that I am a TROJAN of VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY!
